Allows homeschooling parents the ability to opt out of mandatory standardized state assessments for families that homeschool. High stakes, one-size-fits-all testing is hard enough on kids as it is - but it has no place in home education. We talk a lot about "evidence-based" policy when it comes to education, but there is no study indicating that regulation of homeschoolers improves academic proficiency. The majority of states no longer mandate tests like these for homeschoolers. It's time for ND to no longer be the most restrictive state in the US when it comes to homeschooling.
